California CCW Permit Courses
CCW Permit Instruction is now offering Courses to obtain a California CCW Permit for residents of Orange County, Los Angeles County, Ventura County, Fresno County, and Madera County.
Orange County residents and Los Angeles County residents must complete a 16-Hour CCW Permit Instruction Course, which includes classroom instruction and “Live Fire.” Students must also pass a written exam, and qualify on the range in order to successfully complete the course.
Ventura County residents must complete the 16-Hour CCW Permit Instruction Course as described above.
Fresno County and Madera County residents must complete the 16-Hour CCW Permit Instruction Course as described above.
Our California CCW Permit Training Courses are built around the NRA Home Personal Protection Outside The Home program. This program is recognized nationwide as the premier program for teaching Concealed Carry Weapon skills.
The California laws that pertain to Concealed Carry Weapons will be presented based on the materials covered in the most current version of the book: California Gun Laws – A guide to state and federal firearms regulations. This book will also be the basis of covering the Federal laws that pertain to Concealed Carry Weapons.
OUR CA CCW PERMIT INSTRUCTION CLASSES ARE FOR EXPERIENCED SHOOTERS ONLY! YOU MUST DEMONSTRATE FIREARM PROFICENCY PRIOR TO TAKING THE CLASS. TO ASSIST YOU WITH THIS, WE WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A CERTIFICATE GOOD FOR 30 DAYS OF FREE RANGE TIME SO THAT YOU CAN FINE TUNE YOUR SKILLS, PRIOR TO TALIKG THE CLASS. IF YOU REQUIRE FIREARM TRAINING, THE RANGE HAS SEVERAL HIGHLY QUALIFIED FIREARM INSTRUCTORS THAT CAN TEACH YOU HOW TO SAFELY AND ACCURATELY SHOOT YOUR FIREARM!
The primary learning objectives are as follows:
- Each student must understand and demonstrate to the Instructor that they have adequate knowledge of handgun safety, including handling, disassembly, cleaning, assembly and storage.
- Each student must understand and demonstrate to the Instructor adequate knowledge of the equipment and techniques to safely carry a concealed handgun, retain control of a concealed weapon and avoid unwarranted detection of weapons by the casual observer.
- Each student must understand and demonstrate to the Instructor adequate knowledge of California Penal Code sections relating to the use and carrying of a concealed weapon, as well as knowledge of civil and penal liability laws regarding firearms in the state of California.
- Each student must understand and demonstrate to the Instructor adequate knowledge of California and Federal Firearms Statutes, including knowledge of where firearms are prohibited and the transportation of firearms.
The following 16-Hour CCW Permit Instruction Course will be taught out of the “NRA Guide To Personal Protection Outside The Home” and a Power Point Presentation.
In order to provide the highest quality of both classroom instruction and Live Fire instruction, we limit our 16-Hour courses to a maximum of 18 students per class. Classes fill quickly, so call today to pre-register!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Both California and Federal rules and regulations concerning the carry, storage and transportation of firearms change rapidly. IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP INFORMED OF ALL CHANGES!
California CCW Permits are issued by the Sheriff’s Department of the County in which you reside. They make the final determination relating to the issue of a CCW Permit in their County. Our California CCW Permit Instruction is approved by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department and the Madera County Sheriff’s Department. However, completing this course is not a guarantee that the Sheriff will issue you a CCW Permit.
California CCW Permit Instruction Courses for residents of Orange County and Los Angeles County:
The classroom portion of the 16-Hour California CCW Permit Instruction Course will be held at our Training Center in Orange County, and the “Live Fire” will be held at Evan’s Gun World in Orange. To qualify, you will need to score with 72 rounds with the first weapon that you would like to have listed on your CCW Permit, on a standard B27 target. For each additional weapon that you would like to listed on your California CCW Permit, you will need to score with 20 rounds on a standard B27 target. Students must qualify on the range and pass a written exam in order to successfully complete the course. The 16-Hour California CCW Permit Instruction Course is a 2-day course!
The California CCW Permit Instruction Course Fee for the 16-Hour California CCW Permit Instruction Course is $295.00. This includes all class materials, range time, targets and the qualification with one weapon. You may qualify with an unlimited number weapons to be listed on your Orange County California CCW Permit, up to 3 weapons to be listed on your Los Angeles County Permit, up to 5 weapons to be listed on your Ventura County California CCW Permit, an unlimited number of weapons to be listed on your Fresno County and Madera County Permit. The cost for each additional weapon is $25. Course Fees are not refundable.
Also included in the Course Fee is 30 days of FREE Indoor Range Time to fine tune your shooting skills before taking the 16-Hour class!
Our 16-Hour California CCW Permit Instruction Courses are limited to 18 students, so register early to ensure your place!
Course Fees are not refundable. However, with 7 days notice, via E-Mail, you can reschedule your training date.

These Courses can be custom tailored to your schedule. This is A 16-Hour Course. A custom Private One-On-One California CCW Permit Instruction Course is ideal for “High Profile” individuals that may not be able to attend a public course. They are also ideal for individuals who can not attend a weekend course, or would simply prefer to have a more personal hands-on instruction experience, both in the classroom and at the range. The cost for a Private California CCW Permit Instruction Course is just $1,295 and includes all course materials, range time, targets and unlimited weapon qualification. A second person is just an additional $295. Bring a friend and share the cost and the Private Course will work out to just $795 each!
